American record label Fueled by Ramen, known for artists like Fall Out Boy and Paramore, could have faded into obscurity when the world lost interest in emo. Instead they moved on to classic pop-rock songwriting with fun., and now they're providing an original take on the indie-rap trend with twenty one pilots. Many rap acts have won over indie fans, but twenty one pilots take it a step further by combining the two genres, with some shouty rock and reggae too. The aversion to capital letters needs to stop, though. Holding On To You is twenty one pilots' biggest track so far, but new single Guns For Hands will be their breakthrough.
