20-year-old Londoner Denai Moore is a singer-songwriter with folk and soul influences. Her music lacks the hooks that she would need to connect with a wider audience, but she is a talented vocalist and there is clearly a market for artists like Denai. I think she could follow in the footsteps of Lianne La Havas and Laura Mvula to win over the broadsheet readers and Jools Holland viewers, and perhaps a BBC Sound of 2014 or a Mercury nomination will follow. She's currently unsigned but has received several Radio 1 plays and will release her second EP The Lake in November through independent label Because Music.
