Remember in the mid-'00s when you could reel off an endless list of artists making fun indie-pop music? Patrick Wolf, The Pipettes, I'm From Barcelona, Long Blondes, CSS and so on. MT (which stands for Many Things) feel like they're from that era. Their self-released new single Alpha Romeo is bursting with such joy that I had to feature them here, even though the video only has 8,000 YouTube views. Whether or not MT make it big, I believe there's a gap in the market for colourful, eccentric indie-pop, and it will only take a few good role models to bring it back. They probably won't sell any records (none of the acts listed above had a top 20 hit) but there is an audience that needs to be served.
