There’s nothing anywhere near as good as Bulletproof on the new La Roux album, but since I disliked everything else I heard from their debut (and Elly’s attitude put me off seeking out more), it seems like a major triumph that I can enjoy every track on Trouble in Paradise. It’s a consistent and cohesive collection, but the track that stood out most on first listen was Sexotheque. It’s a great example of the “dancing with tears in my eyes” mini-genre, featuring a very catchy chorus juxtaposed with a story of heartbreak in the lyrics.
