Vine may have been closed for the past year, but it’s still launching new pop acts posthumously. 20-year-old Andrew Bazzi first became known on the video sharing app, using it to post six-second cover videos. Since 2016, the pop-R&B singer has been releasing a series of singles with cute, colourful artwork, and he finally has a potential hit on his hands with Mine. It’s currently trending on Spotify with 13m plays, plus several million each on YouTube and Soundcloud. Despite his background as a social influencer, Bazzi doesn’t have a huge following on any platform, but his label APG (who also somehow managed to make Charlie Puth a thing) is clearly giving him a good push him behind the scenes – Apple Music doesn’t call someone with 67k Twitter followers a “superstar in the making” without an incentive. He’s also playing Bonnaroo this year, and was recently in the studio with Marshmello.
